What is a standard argo track good for?

I bought my argo bigfoot with standard tracks. It seems there are wide tracks for snow, other tracks for swimming, so what is it for? Is it good idea snow or will it bottom out?

I have a set of 22 inch wheels with it so i can add paddles to it maybe, but there are no holes to mount it to

No idea and no interest in them. I have the super tracks and used them twice, two different snow storms. The were good for what I needed them for, kept me on top of the snow. I also have the adair tracks standard width and they are great for the mud. I would think the standard tracks would be good for snow to a limited extent as your foot print is a little bigger than tires alone. I have seen them used in the mud at Buscoe and don't seem the best but that was in videos no personal experience. There are vidoes of the standard tracks or something similar being used on an attex in the snow by JPSWIFT maybe someone else will chime in.

The 13" standard tracks are for snow and work "ok" but traction sucks on ice, asphalt, tree roots, rocks, trailer ramps or just about anything other than wet snow. The heavier and wetter the snow the better, 2 feet of fresh powder will be a challenge.

As for mounting paddles or cleats, get your drill out and start making some holes. There are a ton of good ideas in the photo gallery.

They are not very good for swamp or mud conditions-from what I have seen tires work a lot better in most conditions other then light snow.

They work ok on my Attex. Better than tires but in this powder, I'm not sure I'd be confident using them alone in the wilderness.

This snow was powdery and almost 2 feet deep.

I had a set of 13" on my first Vanguard. They are ok, but are far more limiting in deep snow than wider tracks. The problem with adding paddles to them is that they already lack the proper floatation in deep snow and the paddles will only help you dig yourself down and stick you. I had the steel paddles cleats on mine that were sold by Tru-Trax and I ended up taking them off because of this problem.

If you are in deep snow a lot the best thing to do would be to add an outer rubber 4" belt attached with aluminum or angle iron paddles and leave an 1" space between the belt and track. This will give you the floatation and traction you need.

I checked pages and pages for standard track mods but I don't see anything. I'm thinking of welding together a double L bracket to attach to the sides of the track, with 1 or preferably 2 bolts on each side. Would be better if I had an aluminum spool gun, I'd go aluminum. The sides are a lot thinner than the bolt holes on the super track, I think 2 might be needed.

I've never worked with aluminum, it's nice and light, would it be okay for tracks, or just go to a thinner steel?

With the 22x10 tires on a Bigfoot I think I might build small paddles into the track, maybe 3/4 inch, and have it extend towards the tub an inch, and 5 inches outside. That's about 6 inches or the same as the super track.

Anybody wax the bottom of their argo so that snow doesn't stick, to make it will slide through the snow easier, like a ski?
