hey guys, here are a few pics of the drive system on the highboy. best i could do. anyway, i found the chain noise to be the main drive chain coming down from the center axle drive in the tub , to the center axle on the subframe. the chain had some binds where the links would'nt pivot. not bent, just frozen. i installed new chain on each side and it goes smooth as silk. the snow today was mushey and took alot of power to get thru and there was no chain noise. i also removed front chains too. the chains driving the front and rear axles were fine. seems like if o ring chain is designed to keep stuff out of the pin and roller then how does lubrication get in there ? i may replace those chains with stainless. they are pretty short. having exsposed chains i just need to be more vigilant about cleaning and lubing. johnboy va.
