  • Argo Bigfoot super tracks rubbing

    Hi,
Yesterday I installed my super tracks on my Argo Bigfoot using the wheel spacers, 22x10x8 tires and the tracks. I put 5psi in the front and middle tire and 6psi in the back tires as told to do by the Argo dealer. After I finished putting them on, which was very hard, I took it just down the trail and they were rubbing under the body. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks in advance

Drop tire pressure to 3 psi maximum.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

The tracks become more loose if I drop the tire pressure.

Yes ,but your tires have grown to large at 5 and 6 psi.

          Super track installation

          Hi,
Does anyone have any tips or tricks on installing super tracks?
          Thanks

I attach at the rear on my bigfoot and on the tire somewhere. I use a wide ratchet stap to pull the track ends together. Deflate the rear tires and the front makes it easier. I also made a connecting pin out of same diameter stainless rod from home depot. I bent one end into a U shape for easy handling and cut to length with enough to thread a washer and nylock nut on the end. Once the pin is started I can use a second ratchet strap or remove the first and place further along the the two links trying to connect. Once connected air up the tires and go. Never really easy but not bad once you get the hang of it.

We took a half link out of track, tried different air pressures. Still hits body as soon as you get a little speed. Took a full link out and put half link back in. Same thing. The tracks start to bounce with speed and hit the body. Air pressure doesn't seem to matter. Confused now....

maybe you can add another set of wheel spacers so the tracks are even farther away from the body.

It's the top of tracks that hit against the wells, not hitting inside. Middle of track seems to flap and bounce up onto the lip of the body that comes out. Going to try more air tonight... stay tuned.

Is your tub sagging at all? Just wondering if the body is sagging and hitting the tracks because of that?

Do you have the early or later versions? Bent track pins from over inflation or wore pins can cause the track to form an inward curve, also the early version ears can bend inwards causing the track to ride up the tire instead of over the tire. On the early version you could bend the bent ears outward until the track rides over the tire.
Jack up the machine and watch what it does, go from there.

Body looks square. Just tried again with air pressures up to 8psi. Track is tight but it slaps the bottom the body. It was slapping the middle but contact moves more to the front as I added more air. Almost like it is ratcheting. We have a full link out, it seems tight. I have no idea what to try next. As soon as you speed up a bit it starts slapping.

Not sure what style they are... It is a 1998 model, I can only guess that is what year the tracks are. Going to check the ears, maybe they are riding up.

In the gallery I have pics of my bigfoot with the tracks on and you can see the guides, they are the later style tracks with the rounded guides. The earlier style has a much flatter guide tooth.

The later track guide teeth are more square at the top the older are round and much thinner at the top thus the curling of the edges on the old style. I have pics of them on my bigfoot in the gallery. Go on any Argo dealer website and look at the tracks and you can see the later style. The earlier style also had a waffle pattern on the tread face.
