My old runamuck tires are badly weather checked and cracked and no longer hold air. I've had plastic tracks on my Vanguard for many years, partly to keep the soft rubber from wearing down fast. I see Goodyear is making those tires again, but I really don't want to use them again unless it is best for my use with tracks on.
I see Carlisle makes a 22 x 10 x 8 paddle tire (very pricey!) and I've heard it is much harder rubber than runamucks. I never run/float my ARGO in deep water so I don't think I even need paddle tires UNLESS paddle tires are necessary with tracks on.
Several questions: 1) Will the Carlisle paddle tires work on my Argo with tracks on? 2) Do the Carlisle tires really have harder rubber so that running them without tracks will give decent wear? 3) There are lots of 22 x 10 x 8 ATV tires with various treads for sale. Can any of them be used on my ARGO when the tracks aren't on?
