anyone that has the adair shackle tracks on their max 2. as the pins and shackle holes wear and the slots in the grousers get bigger, the tracks still work but get '' sloppy''. to remedy this i cut 2''x2'' x 1/4'' aluminum angle into brackets the 1 1/2'' width of the grousers. i then drilled a 5/16'' hole in the brackets on both sides . drilled a 5/16'' hole thru the verticle part of the grouser ( the tire edge) down a little, and bolted the angle to it with 5/16'' carriage bolts. the used a 2'' wide belting to connect all the grousers. i left the metal shackles on, but now the belts tie everything together like their other type tracks. you could actually remove all the metal connectors now. also you may need to use 1 1/2'' wide belt on the inside to clear the tub, but outside you could use 3'' wide. so don't just throw everything away ! hope this helps someone.... johnboy va.
