This is a Question for Member Flippy

I saw in the gallery that you used flat bar for your grousers, are they hard on your tire sidewall? how much gap do you have between the sidewall and the grouser, and lastly how thick is the flat stock that you used.

    Thanks

I used 1/4" thick by 1" flat bar.I think I went 4" up along the side of the tire.I bought the blue flat bar metal bender from harbor freight to bend the steel into a U shape.I bought 3 used camoplast tracks with studs in them for only $60 complete.I drilled out the flat bar to match the holes in the tracks that the studs were using.I even reused the studs and the nuts to attach the steel to the rubber track. No problems on my tires,I do have the very hard rough riding at101 tires.I think I spaced the tire guides close enough that they would not hit each other when going around the front or back tires.
