  • Working loads Argo Plastic tracks, questions

I have a used set of 18" Argo plastic tracks. I have not tried them yet but working on getting them installed and ready for firewood season / winter fun.

When doing firewood we use my old 86' Argo IC to pack from the clear cuts to the road side. Usually 4 loads fills a half ton pick up. So I'm guessing 3-400 pounds a load. Will the plastic tracks hold up to this? I thought the tracks would be nice for crossing small poles, branches and tree roots.

    Any advice?

If you are not operating in the water (floating) then you have the same limits that your machine is rated for on land with tires. I would suggest installing the ice cleat kit on the tracks if you are going over slick snow covered roots/branchs. One of the negitives of the plastic tracks is that they can be slippery in these conditions. The cleats would grab onto the roots/branches.
