I recently bought an attex and was having a debate on how these things float. In order to float do you need a certain balloon tire? or is it the body that makes these machines float? I know you want a tire with some paddle action. What would you all recommend for a good tire? I am definately planning on taking this machine out on the water a few times.

Welcome to the site VrOtt! As long as you don't have cracks in the body, the body will float the machine, but the tires do help quite a bit. I run Carlisle Chevron style tires, with the V backwards (on the top of the tire, it points to the back of the machine, as opposed to pointing forward as on most land-based machines) and they swim well in my limited experience. Check out the Tires thread to see other member's opinions of which tire performs best, and where. The old baloon (floatation) tires do float great and are supposed to give a very smooth ride, but are rare, pricey and prone to failure. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in, though!
