  • 1972 argo 6x6, in need if tires!

First off this is my first post, I'm anticipating buying this 1972 Argo and I don't know if tires are available for this machine it has 19.625 x 11.125. Are these tires still available if they are not what you guys use for replacements? Thanks for all the help

Welcome to the site Dave. First off, where are you located? New tires can be quite pricey and shipping can be big $ too.
I'm guessing a 21" or 22" tire will fit your machine fine and tread pattern means everything to our machines. Carlisle at-101 or rawhide III's are good choices.
Wheels are another issue ...... 8" diameter is most common for the smaller sized tires. Golf cart rims can be had cheaply but the tires will debead often at low pressure. K-lock rims are worth the extra money.

Thanks, iam located in lower Mi around metro detroit area. This argo needs only 2 tires. From reading last night it looks like i need adapters and such if going with different wheels and tires.. Does anyone still offer the original balloon tires? Looking for 2 of them. Thanks for the help

The balloon tires have not been made since the 70's. Used can still be found, but it's a gamble if they will last any amount of time or not. Adair Argo sells the adapters at a reasonable price https://adairargosales.com/accessori...bolt-adapters/ If you do buy just 2 wheels/tires, I'd put them in the center position.

like buggy man said they have not been made since the 70s and they are very expensive to buy due to their rareness.i made a suggestion to one member one time to sell the balloon tires (assuming they are not beat to crap etc) as you can get something for them to help with new tire costs as like i said they are pretty rare.just a thought. buy some rawhides if you want trail tire that swims! also check out other posts for different tire options as even i have a post recently made about tire options!
