  • Kenda Bearclaw tires?

I have a MaxII and the tires are almost done. I was looking at options for the 8" rim and came across the Kenda Bearclaw at a decent price. Has anyone ran them and do they swim? They seem to have a similar chevron tread to the Rawhide tires I currently have. Any info or suggestions on a 22" tire much appreciated.

    Thanks, RR

I was considering those at one time. They like as though they may swim decent due to the little lug in the center that sorta closes off the chevron. IDK. With the Runamuks back in production, I will be staying loyal to them now.

Reconrokon, they dont swim...I had the 24x11-10 on my Max ll last weekend @ Busco. They are good on hard pack, loose gravel and mud.

The Runamuks are about depleted nationwide at a lot of distributors, the factory is set to run another Limited run soon.
I have some reserved for Marc.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Thanks for all the replies and insight. I rarely ever take my Max in water, but would like for it to swim if I ever need it to. I like the Kenda Bearclaw because it has a great price($69 each!!) and I ran them on a Honda Fatcat and they performed well. Does anyone know if they still make the Rawhide III's in 22X11X8?? Mine currently has the 21" Rawhides from the factory. 3 of them have tubes, 2 plugged and they are pretty much shot. I wanted to go with the 22" for more clearance.

Kenda bear claws are junk on an Argo or Max, don't waste your money. I had them on an Argo Vanguard 6x6 and a Max IV. They dont swim at all and they do not skid well either. They just tear **** up and leave you stuck. Go with a Chevron tire if your looking to save some $$, the Carlisle AT-101s are a cheap alternative.

Thanks for the heads up, Jim. I had seen them being advertised but never called anyone to order. Looks like I'll be using my older ones a little longer than I figured.

There are still some out there, however what I heard was a limited run of like 500 coming, that doesn't spread very far. It seems low to me but that is what the distributor said.
