  • What's the best way to make these tires hold air

I have an Argo 6x6 with Goodyear rawhide tires , whats the best way to keep air in these things , seems like I spend most of my time filling them up . Does anybody use tire slime , or tubes ? , what works best ?

I have not used slime but everyone I know who has swears by it. Have you found where the leak is?

I used Slime in my Argo. I love it. I had leaks around the rim. I went from filling up my tires ones a week to filling them up once every 4 months. It also helped with breaking the beads while riding. I guess if you break a bead it will seal it back up fast.

For bead leaks we always broke the bead cleaned it up and ran a bead of silicone around it blew it back up never really had a problem again.

TO the best of my Knowledge slime Does not freeze dad has it in his 4 wheeler tires and uses it all winter in Buffalo to plow his driveway and doesn't have to add air anymore like he use too before he put the slime in.

you might consider getting some bead lock rims from Matt O on this forum as you can run as low as 1 psi with his rims and not break the bead in fact he says you can remove the valve stem and not lose the bead. I had the same problem with my Bigfoot argo breaking the bead.

I put tubes in all my tires, and I only have to adjust the psi once a year. My rims were pretty rough, so I didn't want to chance it.
It's all just nuts and bolts.

Ditto on the slime! I did break a bead one time with my Vampires/MattO rims Not knocking them though...I only run 1-2psi. Mudbug broke a bead on his K-Locks within 5 minutes of me, so maybe we hit some unseen bead breaker?? I would buy the MattO rims again in a heartbeat. I did have minor air leakage though, and the slime stopped it completely. It takes a whole gallon though to do all 6 tires.
                    Hammers should have warning labels.
