  • Tire Pressure with Tracks

Fellow Riders, What should be the tire pressure when running rubber tracks on my Max II?

  • #2
Are they factory tracks? ( rubber with aluminum guides) also what tires are you running?
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

Trevor, yes they are factory rubber tracks with aluminum guides. The tires are: Goodyear Rawhides 2.1 x 11.0-8 NHS if that means anything/ Thanks for all your help.

Sounds like you have the factory set up then tires and all. I happen to have a set of track instructions right from Max and it says 3 to 5 psi depending on how tight the tracks are. Too tight and it’s hard on the drive train, too loose and you run the risk of running out of them. Either way it’s good to avoid sharp turns. The front and rear tires should be as close to the same circumference to avoid chain windup. Since tire pressure is so crucial I highly recommend a product that ive had great luck with in two of my rigs now. It’s called Quad Boss tire sealant. Just pump in the recommended amount and give it a chance to work in. I didn’t have to check air pressure all last winter. Prior to that I was checking tires before every ride.

Trevor, Thanks for all your help. Where do you purchase this Quad Boss Tire Sealant and how much do I need to get?

Ordered it from Moto Sport. They were a little cheaper than amazon. 2 gallons will do it.
