  • Valve stems. Bolt in vs snap in?

Which do you prefer and why? I used bolt in on my last set but have never had an issue with snap in except with stock Chevy wheels that are almost flush in rocky mud. But there was no dish to those wheels so the whole face of the wheel contacted the side of the rut. Does it even make a difference? I thought maybe snap in might be simpler for trail repair. Thoughts opinions and experiences welcome.

Snap in can be pushed in from the outside if you are in a dire position and willing to fight/ cuss a lot. Bolt in can snap off and leave you in a pickle.

I carry these Incase of emergency. They screw in from the outside.

What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

Hmm, that's pretty slick I may need to throw some in my ammo can just in case.

Use either, but do this. Cut a small length of pipe or square tube and tack weld it heavy to the wheel (clean off paint first and have valve stems out). no more broken or ripped out valve stems.

You know this makes me feel simple, lol, this used to be common practice for me on mud trucks and jeeps, I can't believe I didn't apply this to 6x6s too. Thank you for reminding me about this, the Bigfoot is getting this treatment before the wheels go back on.
