  • Tire Dilemma

I’ve got a set of tracks made to go over my Good Year Rawhide III s. They are 25x12x9. The tires are cracked on the sidewalls. They don’t make these tires anymore. These tires actually measure 24”. I do not have room to go any taller, as you probably know most tires are not the actual size they are labeled.
So my question is does anyone know of another brand tire that actually measures 24” but is 12” wide for a 9” rim?
If I can’t find the right tire then maybe go to bead locks with a tube? Just a tube is not an option as it will rip off the valve stem when the tire slips on the rim. Ive been down that road before.
If I could even find a smaller tire that would work but most 22” tires have an 10” or 11” width.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

An option could be the at101 24x12x12 but you are buying rims. Check into 25x12x9 Mudlites, I don't know actual height.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Thanks Jim. The 24” Carlisle has a more square profile that doesn’t fit the tracks curve. I’ll look into the Mudlite.

        Carlisle Stryker

I went with The Carlisle Stryker 22x11x9” to fit the tracks. They actually measure 22 1/2” and 11 3/4” wide. The width was the critical part. I shortened the tracks to fit. These tires are like the old school Woolly Boogers we used to run on the three wheelers back in the day. They even swim a little. The knobbys on the side really didn’t hurt the swimming as they’re covered by the track belting anyway. I’m not sure how they would swim without tracks.
