One thing that I like about the J-Wheelz , is that they don,t make an amphib any harder to skid steer , because they taper towards the end , and are elevated above the ground.

      j wheelz

They would not fit on the trails i ride but they look like they would be great in mud and water. just think about where you ride and trail size . I would like to have them on in the water . If you get them would love to see a video

I ordered a set of J-wheelz this week. I guess they haven't been tried on a six or 8 wheeler yet. I should be getting them in about a week. I will let you all know how they work. I will also do a video in water and swamp. 500 lbs. of floation should really help in the water. They need to make special hardware to fit the 5 bolt pattern. Can't wait to try them. Max IV with 26" tires. The J-wheelz will not fit on 21" or 22" tires.

          Max King,

J-Wheelz offers different size lug cleats starting at 1 1/2 " inches , and all the way up to 3" inches . The larger size would offer the best water speed , and also the best traction in the mud. What size did you order?

Didn't know they had different size paddles I'll make sure I get the biggest ones. They are replaceable I think. They have make special hardware for the Max so I will be talking with them before they ship the J-Wheelz.

                Hey Mudbug3:
tried to do the private message thing but it unlogged me. I will get different
size lugs for testing. They have to redsign the mounting hardware to fit a 5 bolt
pattern they only make them for 4x4's with 4 bolt wheel.
Just have to be patient. They will let me know when done and ship out then I was told next week. My Max IV will be the first to ware these shoes. I will let you know when I get them.
Hey could you send me another private message and explain how to use it
                Thanks.

It's hard to tell in the video but do they slow your water speed down some? They looked good in the mud coming up the bank.

                          Speed

That Max IV with the J-wheels is swimming much faster than mine with 25" Rawhide IIIs. Also climbs out in mud much better. Great improvement in floatation, stability & traction. I'd be curious if there is a sacrafice in ride by stiffning up the sidewalls.

I think the speed you see is probably from the 26" tires. Those are very fast in the water compared to the rawhides. It looked like the j-wheelz may have even slowed them down some ?

                              Toyman,

There is no change in the ride , because when the J-Wheel is attached to the rim. When you,re driving on hard ground the J-wheelz are off of the ground. But,, in soft mud the J-wheelz only allow your amphib to sink so far. This allows your tires to grab traction , several inches at a time. The key to driving in very soft and deep mud , when using the J-Wheelz , is not to spin the wheels very fast and cancel the traction out.

The J-Wheelz are superior over tires in soft, deep mud , as seen in the video. Max King tried driving out of the lake with the Terra tires , but , the mud was so soft , that he got stuck every time that he tried. He then went back and installed the J-Wheelz , and later was able to drive out of the lake in the very same spot.
You can remove a J-Wheel in a little over 3 minutes time.

This video shows how stable the J-Wheelz are in water ,compared to tires.
