I put them back on the normal way. I am fabricating a mount for a trolling motor that will go on the roller fairlead plate of the winch to address my water speed issue. That project will likely not get wrapped up until April, because we have a bad cold front moving through here tomorrow that will probably keep the ponds frozen up until spring.
Bud, my tires were faced the same direction when I got my MaxII. The front tires were facing foward and the remaining 4 were reversed. I still could not climb out. I turned all my tires reverse. It swims good now. I still cant climb out good. I spoke with a friend of mine and he told me to reverse out of the water. I have not tried it yet but that is one option you could try.

hey Bud, reversing out of water on a Max II is the way to go. I made a trolling motor mount to aid my water speed. I have a 42 lbs thrust motor guide that pushes it well! My Max swims good but the trolling motor is much faster in deeper water. No one can beat me to the duck hole in the flooded timber now! (unless they are in a war-eagle with a 25 HP motor of course)

Anyways, reverse out with your Max. Your motor is in the back and your tires in the rear are in the right direction to reverse out! Works like a champ for me!

Reverse out it will be. I have used the winch coming out a few times when coming out forward.

I just finished fabricating my front mounted trolling motor mount, using the bracing from the roller fairlead mount on my winch. I am going to put it all on tomorrow.

I need a newer, bigger trolling motor now.

What size trolling motor do you have? Also, do you have a picture of your mounting plate you made?

I ordered a 50 lb thrust, 42" shaft Minn Kota.

I will take a picture of the plate and post it up once I get the trolling motor in.

Hopefully the pond will not re-freeze between now and then, and I can include some action shots.
