  • Goodyear Runamuck thoughts?

Last post was on Carlisle Chevrons. Conclusion is that they are hard. OK. What about the Runamuck's? Who has 'em and what are your thoughts on
'em? I really dont want to buy six new tires and not like them. I'm lookin for soft ride and good swimmers (I live on a lake). I don't ride too hard. Fast in the grass, sand beach into water, gravel road, snow, some mud. No rocks, stumps and the like. So would the runamucks be what I'm lookin for?

The Runamucks are good swimmers and they're soft. I think this might be the tire for you. The downside is that they'll wear out fast if you drive them frequently on hard surfaces like pavement, hardpack, gravel, or concrete. Maybe 6x6World members Hydromike or George can chime in and give you some more details because they were both runnng Runamucks on their Attexes.......also some Argo owners might be able to help you out too because these were the stock tire on certain models. It came in both 20" and 22" sizes I believe.

i have the 20" ones (no longer made) on my argo 8x8. most of mine are pretty well worn out, but still do pretty well. the ride is really soft. can't really say on the swimming as mine are too bald to do much good. i probably have less than a quarter tread and they still get good traction. i run the pressure at 2 psi (except the left rear which has been flat sence i got the machine) they seem to flex enough to really conform to the ground shape... therefore getting more traction

The runamuk is a good tire, esp when new. Don't drive on pavement unless it's a straight line, you will scrub precious rubber paddle very easy. They will live a long time if you stay in the dirt. Not for serious mud, but in a 22" tire, ride and swimming is good. Run them low psi.

I have a set for both of my Argo's (Stock Tires)
Nothing wrong with Runamucks, but there is a better choice IMHO.

If you run tracks at all, Runamucks are a good choice. If you don't have tracks, and plan to swim your machine a fair bit, I would recommend "Frontiers".......Great Swimmers. (Frontiers are "harder" than Runamucks)

Yup, I had them for a long time. Member 6x6 has them now. They're a great ride like everyone said. They're soft so you really need to stay off the pavement (or just not turn if you have to cross it). Very good swimmers if the tread is in decent shape.

I'd like to see the Argo tires on an Attex but at the cost, I'll wait to watch someone else experiment with them.

Several days late, and several dollars short!!!!

On my search for tires, I've found two things out. Amphiman1 has all the old skool balloon tires and jpswift1 has all the old NANKANG chevy's.
                I'm jealous!!!
