  • Reversing tires

I know some of you have done it, and had improvments, so I have tried experimenting a bit myself. This is what I found:

    Frontier 24" tires
    Reversing front tires:
Not sure if it helped me climb up out of holes or not, maybe a little, BUT, I did notice a significant difference in my ability to turn out / climb out of rutts. Not in a good way. I definatly had to work a little harder to get the machine to climb out of ruts. I decided that for my riding conditions, running the front tires backwards was not a good option.

    Reversing the 3rd tires:
For the purpose of "Swimming", having all tires on "Normal" was the best for forward propulsion, however there is really no such thing as "Reverse".
Swapping the 3rd tires made almost no difference to forward propulsion, but definatly will give you some reverse. It's nowhere near what you get going forward, but at least I did have some manouverability in reverse.

So now I have kept my 3rd tires on "backwards", and others that I ride with have also swapped their tires as well.

Whoever it was that "pioneered" this little fix, I thank you. It's working good for me.
