  • Tire chains for an AATV

There has been a lot of talk on the forum lately about tire chains for various AATV's and I for one have been considering one set for the front or rear tires just to give them a try. It seems to me that they would greatly increase traction coming out of any bad conditions if they were installed on the back wheels. The good thing about chains is they go on and come off quickly so you can put them on when conditions are awful and then take them off. I have heard from people who have used them in the swamp and they say that they greatly improve the machines ability on wet logs, sticky mud holes etc. I have attached a link to some tire chains I am considering. Seems that the second or last pair would be the best choice for an AATV. P.S.-I got word from a man who used chains on his quad at the Marango swamp run and he walked through holes that gave the Outlaw and Gorilla equiped Quads cat fits. Seems that the chains are able to sling off sticky mud that Outlaws and other mud tire can't shead.

I run a set of four much like the second ones down on a skid loader for snow plowing and it turns it into a tank. Will add alot of overall weight to any machine but will chew through anything. Just expect a rough ride and to tear the hell out of any hard packed surface.
