  • aluminum aftermarket wheels for AATV??

Anyone running aluminum/billet wheels like those seen on so many high-end/tricked out quads nowadays? i think that many of them look really sharp, but I'm wondering if they can withstand the punishment our zero-suspension AATV rigs would place on them. I sure don't want to fork over a lot of hard-earned $$$ only to have wheels crack after a short time!

    Any input greatly appreciated!!!!!

I think I'll be able to help you out with this. I am going to be running ITP Pro T-9 .190 thick polished aluminum wheels on my new Attex Thunderchief racer. The only issue is that they're not too easy to find in 4x4" bolt pattern. If you are looking for ones in a 4x4" bolt pattern you would want to look up older Polaris models like the Trailblazer 250 because they used this bolt pattern. I ended up using two of these and I found 4 more cheap on ebay for a 4x100mm bolt pattern (Yamaha Blaster). Mike was nice enough to make me up some 3 bolt to 4x100mm adapter plate templates to use for my racer. I do know that Whipper runs aluminum wheels on his springer (he redrilled his rims for our 6 wheeler 5x4.5" bolt pattern) and I don't think he has had any issues. Also, here are some aluminum wheels from a golf cart place, but I really don't know what thickness the aluminum is.....you might want to ask them before placing an order. They are a 4x4" bolt pattern though.

Yeah, I've been doing some searching on the web and it looks like the biggest challenge will just be finding anyone who offers them in a 5-bolt pattern! Everything I've seen is a 4-bolt style. I'd prefer either 8" or 9" rims so I can go with a taller tire to make the ride softer. (A suspension seat mod for this same reason is also forthcoming.)

Where the heck did Matt O. get those 5-bolters he has on that tricked out Ox of his??? Fess up, Matt! Inquiring minds want to know! Bling required! LOL

Contact Whipper. He hes been buying these type of wheels and modifying the hole pattern to work. I think he's made 3 or 4 sets in the last year.

what do you think about these tires? says you can mount 22x11-8 on any rim that ends in 8...and it's a 5 hole pattern.

idk the width of them though.
