Boys,I'm going to need rimlocks. No chance of buying them,so I will make them but I have never seen one so I'm open to suggestions such as how close the profile is to the rim,how many per wheel[24" tires].What material to make from without throwing the balance out to much and with tyres marked tubeless do I just throw tubes in without problems.Pictures of over the counter units would be good but no need to spoil me,anything would be good.Thank you.

beadlocks
This suggestion might not be good for you, but my rims and tires are old and a little beat up, so here is what I do with them, and it seems to work well. I will put a tube in the tire, and inflate it as normal, then drill 8-10 small holes in an even pattern thru the rim just over the bead of the tire (do not drill into the tire). Do this to both front and rear of the rim, then screw in 1/2" coarse thread screws (I use sheet metal screws) directly into the bead of the tire. The screws are not long enough to go thru the bead, so they wont puncture the tube. This will "lock" the tire to the rim. If you have nice rims/tires, you might not want to do this to them, but I have never had a tire come off yet. Hope this helps, it is easy and cheap to do.I don't want to go fast, I just want to go anywhere.

I talked to the owner of Diamond racing Wheels one time when I was still racing and he told me a trick they used in the old days. He said they used to drill holes behind the bead on the rim and welded nuts to the rim. Once the tire was mounted they put bolts thru holding the bead on from the inside. I never tried it tho.Cave Trolls Rule!

I've done it on race car wheels as well. you weld the nuts a bit inboard so the bead of the tire can get over them. I always ran a bead of silicone around the base of the nut to be sure there wouldn't be leaks. put the tire on the rim. start a bolt in each hole and air it up. then remove all the bolts, letting all the air out. coat the bolts with plumbers putty to seal them. put all the bolts in and tighten. allow putty to dry overnight before airing them back upA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
