  • Questions about flat tires?

So here is my dumb question of the week. Do you find that you get more side wall holes when your tires have less then 2PSI? Or it dont matter how much air you have if you are running in a rocky area you will get flats. Im not running in slate, just very rocky terrain.

I've been running with around 2 psi more for the ride then anything else.
support your local search and rescue unit and get lost.

I have gotten, count'em, 8 sidewall punctures, all with PSI at 3 or less, with PSI of over 3, not one. The argo rims pinch the sidewalls.

coincidentley, I have also gotten three flats in the face of the tire when I lowered the pressure to 2.5. WHy that would happen I don't know as you would think it would be harder to puncture the tire when the pressure is lower.

Bottom line, I run my tires at 3.5. The ride is not great, but better than time spent with a grouchy driver who is dealing with major flat issues.....
