  • Jackal Tire / have a look

ATV Action - Hi Torque Publications

this is the site I seen a picture of a jackal Tire. in another thread I mention the price differance between this jackal and a rawhide III.
Jackal $35 ea total invoice is $239.40 taxes in
    RW's $90 ea total invoice is $645.60

Some differance, but it would not be a deal if they are no good.
Have a look at the tire and post opinion of tread design.

Dealer (Kevin) said he has had four on his quad and has had no regrets.

    Moike ,

When choosing a tire for an amphib , you need to not only think about the cost of the tire you choose, but also will it be suitable for amphibious applications. Since our amphibs are able to drive on land , through mud and swamps , but also have the ability to swim in water,,you need to be very selective when choosing a non amphibious tire . I looked at a couple of Jackal atv tires, and in my opinion, I don,t think they would make a good amphib tire. My decision is based on the Jackal tread design.

Ditto on the probable no swim.

If cost is an issue when choosing tires for an amphib,,the ones you have on your Argo responce would be a good choice for him ? Even though its not a pure mud tire , or a tire for amphious applications , its been a fair trade off for you , right ?

I have seen a few 6x6's with 4 atv tires up front & 2 good smimmer tires in the rear. Not surehow good it worked!

            GREASEMONKEY ,

At the moment I have two Goodyear terra tires ( amphib tires ) on the middle and rear of my Max IV , with the V facing rearwards for max water speed ,and on the front , I have two Gator atv tires,,facing V forwards , for maximum digging in mud , and up muddy creek banks . I will soon replace the two Gator tires up front with two Interco , 26 inch ,Vampire tires . The Vampire tires dig even better in the mud , because the tread pattern helps them shed mud faster .

You can pick up 22x11x8 Goodyear Rawhide III tires for around $43 each. Great tire, great performance, great price!

Thank you guys / Actual Pictures of the Jackal Tire

Now here is the real issue at hand. You guys that can purchase a Rawhide III for $40 to $50 dollars are killing me. The differance is location. I am in New Brunswick Canada where we pay with body parts for such things. I priced through out eastern Canada and the least $$$ for the Rawhide III is $91.36 and he tells me this is a deal. Most others are around $125 to $130 so for here that is a deal.
Now here is what I am hoping will happen. At $35 each it is almost worth a chance. The tread design on these Jackles are similiar to a v pattern. I will attach a picture of one. I am going to see if the 22" Jackal will fit in under the MaxII and if so I will buy them and report to you all how they work.
Now in the picture I have put a level across the jackal and a 21" GY.
The Jackal has 5 lbs of air for now but I will lower it to about 3.5 And the size diff is apparent. i will swim them with all facing to the front as I think I will get most traction in mud this way. It is very important to me not to get stuck where the four wheelers get through, as at any speed in water I am ahead of those other people with the 4 wheels.
I think the tread design is not too bad but will know come the weekend.....
comments are again welcome as I really need the support both pro and con to keep me from going to the dark side.......4 wheels that is....

Call Recreative Industries and get a price from them. I"m sure they are cheaper than $90 a tire.

Bringing back a thread from the dead.

Hey Moike, any update on the performance of the Jackals?? I saw in your picture gallery that you said they swim better than the Rawhides.

( QUOTE ) Moike " I have put it to a swim test , and they are far better than the rawhides. "

Well , I guess we can add the Jackal atv tire to our list of non-amphib tires that swim. They have a wider lug spacing , so they must shead mud much better than a Rawhide tire.

These are amphib tires that swim , and the forum members that have used them.
