have been on this site dailey and find you guys are most knowledgeable on all topics. was just looking at all the posted videos from busco and need to ask for some insite on tires. most of my time is spent on dry ground... hunting or just enjoying a day out and about. at this time all my tires are off for some bearing service and i was wondering what would be the best way to have my " V " on each tire to best of my advantage. i do sometimes encounter water, but not for any length of time. mostly just a small stream or maybe a pond no bigger than say 30 - 40 feet across. thanks for all help.

p.s. if everything goes as planned, i'm hoping to make it down to busco in the fall

if you want to swim you should have your tracks in the mud pointing the direction you were going >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> OOO------>

if you don't swim much then you can always go across the water backwards then your V's are pointing in the right direction. I think I would run the rear wheels normal for swimming and the others reversed for better self cleaning in mud when under normal traveling. in water your first 2 sets are pushing water into the next tire anyway.. Or just carry a paddle or two

My two cents, if you come to Busco you will definitely need your tires to swim if not you will miss a lot of fun that we have. Some tires swim better than others and really don't want to start that discussion again. Just for grins and giggles what type tires are you running now and on what machine. Different tires respond better with different machines so who knows the answer.(ground clearance, approach angles etc......) I run the Argo new style tires and have had great results with them but they are expensive. I run them in the reversed position because the design of the tire seems to work best that way, and they seem to dig better in the mud with the same set-up. Running them in swim position should not hamper your mudding grip, so why not go ahead and reverse them to swim. If the occasion arises you are ready.

          This is just my opinion.

I agree with Lewis. Run them the proper way for swimming and forget about it. Since you are mainly on dry ground it won't matter anyway and that way you will be prepared for when you do have to float / swim. Sometimes even a shallow mud hole can make your 6x6 float.

Just to clear things up. I was not aware that the Rawhides came in a 26 inch. The 25's (25x11.5x9) are what i had. Not trying to be a smart.......... I may be wrong.
