  • 22" Goodyear rawhide III vs. 25"

After riding with McCoy this weekend I got to see his 25" rawhide III's in action on his Argo Bigfoot. I expected them to perform basically the same as my 22" rawhide IIIs in the water but maybe a little faster due to the size. To my amazement, McCoy could swim circles around me. I didn't get to spend much time in the water due to a missing drain plug but the little time that I did McCoy flew past me like he had a motor on that Argo.

Even though there are some other variables at work I was really impressed. If my 22" rawhide III's performed like that, they would be perfect! I was impressed with them in the mud though and think that the compromise between less water speed and better mud performance is well worth it.

Hmm, I've never noticed a II being slower than a bigfoot. One advantage in the mud is you can air down with k rims while he has to run more psi. Probably was the missing plug?

Roger, it may have been that plug. I did take on a little water. Hopefully that won't happen next time and we can get a better comparison.
