I placed an order with BikeBandit for 22x11x9 tires to use on my newly purchased tracks. After installation, the tires are too wide for the tracks, they measure between 11.5-12" in width due to the knobby threads. I contacted BikeBandit and they may give me a credit because the tires were mounted. I looked at their 22x10x9 options and only noted a snow tire that would have the "paddles" needed for the water in the event that I remove the tracks. However, they specify that these are only for snow and that they expand to a maximum of 40% in diameter (not width) at high speeds. Does anybody know if these would work? They sound great for the water, but would they work in the tracks? I don't think this expansion would greatly matter if placed inside tracks as the Argo isn't very fast anyways and the tracks would prevent them from expanding anyways. I have a 98 Bigfoot and it does about 18mph max without tracks. Any suggestions?

Thanks much for your great advice. I almost made this mistake. If I get a full refund, I'm going to buy the Goodyear or Carlisle tires with 8" rims and not take anymore risks, but BikeBandit doesn't carry these. If they don't give me a full refund and only give me a credit, I guess my only other option is to get the Dunlop KT175 in 22x10x9. They won't swim either, but they probably would work good on the tracks and mud. Here's a picture. Let me know what you think. You think these would work?

Smog,
I took a look at those Stryker 22x11x9, but I would hold back from buying another 11" wide tire. The tracks are exactly 11" wide and these would not be a loose fit. I understand the 22x10x8 runamuck, which are the correct tires, are supposed to fit loosely. I'm not sure if you have the plastic tracks, but these are not adjustable. Also, the 6x6 has 18hp and if your 8x8 has 23 or more hp then it probably doesn't really matter if they have a snug or loose fit. I really don't want to chance it, I'd still like to know if anyone feels that these KT175 tires should work well for the tracks. Thanks again.
