  • Argo Avenger tire question

I've got the argo that my dad had sitting for a couple yrs all up and running, but I have a question regarding the tires...he had it in pennsylvania in a remote area and one of the tires got punctured..he took the tire to a cple places and no one had replacements but a guy at the shop told him this tire would work (attached) and that those tires were no longer available..from what I've read recently it sounds like the stock tires from and 06 avenger really are no longer available correct? My concern is the replacement tire is a completely different tire and seems to have different dimensions(At22x11-8) where as the other stock tires are At25x11.50-9. Can you even do this? Would this have effects on the chains since it would be moving at a different revolution(I'm assuming?) I honestly don't know much about tires or how/if that could have an effect on the drive system?

If you can't use this tire are there any other tires that I can use(I'm not really concerend about having one different tire if its possible) or do I really have to buy a whole new set (I hope not cause that won't be happening anytime soon

    Thank you for any help

I no longer run the Rawhide 3 tires on my Avenger. I have switched over to the 2010 Avenger tire and have had very good results. Don't worry about the other mentioned items you will be fine. That tire you have there (Knobby) is not good for swimming at all. The new Avenger tire is a little pricey but like i said you will notice a difference in your performance in mud and water.

My Avenger runs the 25x11.5x9 tire and it is a 2006. What year model is your machine and are your currently running the 22 inch tires?

You can still get the 25" Rawhide III tires on ebay if you just need to replace one. Look in the Automatic links to ebay forum, there are a few threads in there linking to ebay auctions with your tires. Here's one: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/autom...25-12-9-a.html

Okay great. Ya I have an 06 avenger with the 25inch rawhideIII, except for the knobby...my only concern was since the knobby is a different tire I didn't know if that would have effect on the chain system, i'll look into getting a replacement from ebay..thanks very much for the info. So I'll be okay riding it around the yard until I get the replacement?

I don't think it will hurt the unit if you drive it in the yard. I would not drive it to far until the replacement comes.
