adaptors for scrambler

Nobody ever says how thick the plate should be for the adaptors, so how thick should the plate be? And do I need the tube welded on the back for support or will just the plate be sufficient for 4" bolt pattern?

In the 3D part of the three to five lug template it is marked 0.3125" but that isn't critical and would really depend more on the knurl and shoulder on your wheel studs. If you already have some just build the adapter to match your existing studs.
