  • Maxxis Sur Trak?

I went to RI yesterday for new rims and tires and found out that there 22x11-8 have Benn replaced with Maxxis SurTrak tiers, They told me that it's the new tire they went to do to the other was no-longer available. was told that they swim 1/2 as good as the 21" tire's they still carry. Well I went and bout them and installed on my MaxII.
The ride difference from my old 21" tire's was immediately noticed, WoW.
My question is what should I expect from them when all this ice finely melts and i can take it swimming?
My old 21" Goodyear's wear shot and did not move me at all in the watter.

I want to get a better mudding tire than my 21" Rawhides though they still swim very well.I don't have any experience with the 22" Rawhide III's but have been told they didn't swim well at all. If your new Maxxis tires swim 1/2 as good as the 21" Rawhides then I would think they would be comparable to the 22" Rawhide III's. Its too bad the Rawhide III's are no longer available as they certainly were a tough tire. Maxxis is OK but from motorcycles my experience with them is once you get used to their product they will discontinue it with little or no warning.I looked up the tread design of Surtrak and they don't really look like a swimmer but RI would have done pretty good testing before committing to them. The problem we face with amphibians is the 8 inch rim size.A very narrow market when compared to 10" and 12". On Maxxis site they state in their size listing ,availability depending on market demand.I'm really anxious to learn of how they swim compared to Rawhide III's.

I have used these ( I believe) on my Honda 400ex. The rears are amazing tires
And I had often wondered how they would do on my Argo. Now mine can be run in both
Directions depending on sand snow or mud. I will Also be waiting to hear how they swim and
In what direction they swim best in, or do I have the wrong tires?
