  • New Argo "Heat" 25' tires and wheels

I went ahead and decided on my replacement wheels and tires. After much thought and research I settled on the new Argo heat tires. They look awesome, and I am told they where designed for the centuar matchines but are real mud hogs. Ill post some pictures as soon as I take the tracks off.

On a side note, has anyone added HD bearing sets to the rear of a bigfoot? New style or old style?

Hi, Hope you know that they don't swim, otherwise an excellent tire.

I have been told decreasing the middle tires can improve
Water performance. A guy I know who has them says they kill the mud, are very strong 6ply and they swim, but not
Great. What is your experience with them?

Well, this is what I know. I was on a ride last year and one guy had an Avenger with them on. They were excellent in the mud, and cleared very well, but hardly moved in the water. I was at the Argo factory over 2 years ago when I first saw them, being tested, at that time they were not released to the public. It seems that they were initially developed as a replacement for the RH111's, but found that they didn't swim, they then developed the 25" version of their swimming 24" Frontier tire. From what I understand all Argo's exported to other countries get the "Heat" tires, unless specified otherwise.

Just on another note, I heard that the Argo factory is going full tilt again, after a slowdown last year (nice to hear), it seems that anything with an Admiral Tranny in it, is selling well.

That is an interesting tire but if you do ANY water travel, get the regular 25" Argo tire. It is not as tough as the Heat but it rides great and swims awesome.

I have also heard some good reports of Argo sales. It seems only high end machines are selling, like BW6 said with the Admiral trans.

I have found the rawhide3 does not perform great here,
And I looked at the new frontier- paddle tires but really want to take
            On some mud this year.

Has anyone played with the dirrectional mounting?

I put the new HDI Bearings in my Conquest. Not hard to do at all. There is a "How To" vid that I made, linked here someplace. Should be able to find it with a search. I would do it for you, but I can't figure out how to do it with my IPod.

I run the 24" Frontiers. It's a tight fit, but it can be done.

It was. Great guy in my opinion, always seems to either have on hand or a line on all sorts of new and used parts an accessories. A good local reference for those in New England.
