    Springer Kit!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

does the added weight affect the speed?

Well....I guess it might take a little longer to reach your top speed but once you get there, you can stay there. No need to slow down for things that would normally send you bouncing out of your seat or bend your axles.

I was able to reach 47mph on the track at Ashtabula before running out of straightaway. I think I might be able to reach 50 if I had more room. Granted, the track at Ashtabula is much nicer than your typical AATV terrain but clearly, even with the extra weight, you'll be able to drive faster because you won't have to slow down as often. The wider stance (74 inches) also makes fast turning a little safer. Because they are so wide, you won't be able to zip through tight areas as easily as a would with a stock Attex SC. You will also be slower in the water.

Springers are for going fast...and it's exhilarating . I use my other Attex (no suspension) for my trail riding (where the trees are pretty close to each other) and it's fun too....just a different kind of fun.

the old style baloon tire will soften the ride if you can find a set of 6.

Bruce, what wheels and tires do you currently have and what air pressure are you running? If you are running a deep bead wheel, just lowering the air pressure in your tires to 1 PSI can change the ride quality a lot.

That's a good place to start. Also, don't overlook more padding in the seat. Whipper had the upholstery shop put about 6 inches of foam in Godzilla's seat & it is soo cush on the tush. It, too, might help. It might be all you need & in the ballpark of what you want to spend for more comfort.

Thank you for your military service from one Vet to another. As far as tires go, the new Argo tires in either 24" or 22" are the softest tires I've ever ridden on in an amphib. They do reasonably well in the mud, and are great swimmers. I run mine at six psi on a 2008 Tracked Argo Frontier, and they are so smooth that it makes the machine feel like it has a suspension. Without the tracks on and at 3psi, its almost like riding in a car.

When I first bought my Max I could only go about 2 hours before my back and arse were killing me. So, I checked my tires and they were at 7 psi. I lowered the pressure to 1 psi and it was like a whole different animal. Then I installed a suspension tractor seat and with these two mods I can ride all day now with no discomfort. These are the easiest and cheapest things to try, so you may as well give them a shot before spending big money!
