Good point there maxrules. That is really bad they dont swim. Im sure its not cheap designing a tire. Best case might be that it works awesome on the dunes or mud and quad guys at least help sell some of the tires. And they try again. Sounds like a crap shoot though designing these tires.

Please don't get me wrong I am not trashing the tire, it works and swims some, and I am just saying that there really is no comparison between the two that I would agree with other than the word chevron.
I for one am going to drop the cash to get a set of these Aqua's on that max II, it's worth a shot and if it swims anywhere as close to the Duro then at least the Interco tire comes with a layer of awesome sauce to go along with it. The Duro's look kind of lame sitting under there.
Also keep in mind, different tires react differently between machines, they may not be the cat's meow on mud ox or Argo but might end up sitting just right in the water under a MAX, or scrambler, you never know.
Now... where is that thread about stretching the tub to make the big'uns fit?Every time I have to push 1... I buy 10 more bullets

This is a very good point. My friend Lee had the 25x 12x 9 Maxis Mudbugs tires installed on his Argo Frontier , and I would,nt say that they swim , but they do paddle very slowly in the water with low throttle. My other friend Noel heated up the tub for clearance to fit these same tires on his Max II , and the Mudbugs gave the Max II a lot more buoyancy in deep water than the 22" inch rawhides that he took off.

Alex:
Bear claws on the front (they don't swim at all) Vampire TSL on the back, six 25x13.5x 9 vampires equal an approximate swim speed of 1 1/2 mphLast edited by mightymaxIV; 06-11-2011, 02:02 PM.

The floating level appears critical for those tires. That Bigfoot turned really fast when the driver leaned and raised the tires out of the water. It was much slower when level and going strait. They might just be "good enough" in the water if they are excellent in the mud. There are so many knobs on those tires, it looks like you're running tracks.Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.

Every thing is a trade off when it comes to designing the perfect amphib tire. If the tire swims really well then its not that great in thick mud. If a tire performs outstanding in thick mud then its not that great at water propulsion. If the tire has soft side walls and is 4-ply to make it ride good, then its subject to side wall punctures. If the tire is 6-ply to be more durable and resist side wall punctures, then its a rough riding tire. How to design one that functions well in all areas I don,t have a clue.

Now that mudbug3 owns a set, im anxious to see the results from his own tests on his new 650 HD in some swamp mud and also on Noel's built Max2 and swampfox, which are both more bouyant and better swimmers than most amphibs that ive seen...
not to bad...

They sure are a gnarly looking tire and from the looks of the video, they swim well enough for anything I'd like to do.
I sure wish they'd come down in price a heck of a lot, and get within my range of affordability. I've been looking for another set of the Kenda Executioners for the Swamp Fox, but the volatility in tire prices from most of the usual retailers has been a bit off-putting lately.
I know you get what you pay for, but if we could find a place that offered the 'Torques for $100 each or so, they could at least make the wish list.
C'mon mudbug; let's see these puppies in some mud!sigpic

Its so dry and hot here in Lousiana and Texas that all of the mud holes have all dried up and no one wants to ride. We have,nt had any rain to amount to any thing in months, so it'll probably be late in the fall when its cooler before we have another amphib group ride through the swamp to test the Aqua Torque tires out. I got the Aqua Torque tires mounted on rims from Adair Argo. This cost me $150 for each rim and tire combo. If you,re looking for a rim and tire combo, I think this is a great deal!I priced this tire and rim separately from several difference sources and the price was a whole lot higher!
