ripped from another thread but good info none the less: i cant wait to try it!
"Buy your tires from on online store that offers free shipping to the Lower 48. Have them ship to the Carlile Transportation hub in Tacoma, WA, then Carlile will ship them up here for like $96. All you need to do is get a confirmation from the company on how they would ship (pallet, wrapped in plastice, whatever), get size of "package" and estimated weight. Call Carlile give them the specs and they will tell you what the charge would be from Tacome, WA to the hub here in Anchorage. They charge like a flat fee plus fuel surcharge for stuff up to like 250 or 300 lbs and it basically comes out to $96. You give the lower 48 company the address in Tacoma, WA and then Carlile takes it from there. You pay Carlile the $96 when you pick the tires up. There is another thread on here about guys here in AK doing this and I just had a 253 lb inflatbale boat shipped from CA to WA for free then $96 to AK, had it in a week. Pretty simple. "
