Hello All. I`m new here, but I`ve been a south Florida swamper all my life. Kinda like what I see when looking at the Mudd Ox. Also like the Escargo Tracks, but haven`t run accross any posts on them. Anyone with experience with Escargo longevity? Any downside to them? They appear really similar to the tracks we make for our homebuilt half and fulltrack vehicles. The vids and blurbs are convencing, but I`d like to hear from real world users. Thanks.........Pop

I was told by a person that used the Escargo tracks and then switched to the Adair tracks on his Argo, that the Escargo tracks were harder to skid steer with, took more power from the engine to turn the tracks because of their heavier weight , were slower in the water because they were heavier for the wheels to turn ,made a lot of noise compared to the Adair tracks, and cost more than the Adair tracks that he eventually replaced them with.Last edited by mudbug3; 05-20-2012, 01:23 PM.

I agree...typically less weight is better for swimming speed, and the back tires do a lot of the work if their not too far under the water
big problem is that with two guys in the front seat it is hard to lean into a turn unless you like to get pretty close to one another..ha ha thats the only reason for one person in the back while swimming...every machine ive ever driven has been faster with just one person in the water
just my experiance

The Escargo tracks are impressive no doubt in their ability to climb steep hills when coming up out of the water. Because the track extensions on the Escargo tracks flex this presents a problem when trying to climb a hill if you don't hit it straight on. This is where a more rigid track has an advantage.Last edited by mudbug3; 05-20-2012, 01:22 PM.

But, they are a whole lot harder to steer than the Adair tracks , weigh a lot more, , cost a lot more, cause excessive chain wind up, and cost a lot more in maintance for chains and bearings I,ve been told. In the first video you'll hear the chains poping because they're so tight.l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

After watching these videos there should be no doubt in your mind as to who won this contest in these very extreme bogg conditions
