  • Carlisle at101 tread pattern mounting for best skid steering

well I am getting tired of my scrambler turning left ok yet throwing up chunks of grass the rh turning is still screwy and I have done just about everything.I believe it's the new Carlisle at101 tires and my dry lawn.I have broke 2 hub pins on the center wheel actually I replaced the 5/16 roll pin with a 5/16 bolt and the bolt snapped!Anyway how is the point of the. V on the tires supposed to be?I have the tires mounted so the point of the v is pointing towards the rear of the machine.I believe this is best for swimming but I truly want the best for skid steering.I had no steering issues with the old balloon tires.

If your primary concern is skid steering, you might try taking all of the tires off, inflate them to 5 lbs and take a tape measure and check their actual circumference. Write the measurement on the inside of the rim and reinstall them with the smallest tire in the front and the largest in the middle, then reduce the air pressure in the back tire to about half of that of the other two..it should turn with suprisingly little effort and allow the back tire to roll more and do less damage.

I suspect that you will find that the reason each side acts differently is because the random size of the tires has left you with a largest tire on the back of the side that is doing the damage.

    Hope this helps
