new tire selection for argo conquest

wondering what everybody is running now a days on their argos. not much to choose from really. anyways machine has factory 8inch wheels and need a tire that will do it all. any recomendations? need to stick with the original size of 22-10-8 so i can still run with the tracks. tires are old and weather beaten. thanks

Yep, Argo decided to finally do something right and they made the 24" tire for the Frontier and the 22" for all the older vehicles that have worn out their Runamuks. It's an excellent tire and really the only choice for track use and all-around good amphib performance.

I found myself in the same situation your in right now this spring. I needed new tires cause mine were weathered real bad on my conquest, and I still wanted a tire I could use my argo standard tracks with. I did alot of research and ended up buying the new argo tire that carlisle at101 makes, they are the exact size of the old runamuk. I am very happy with the carlisle tires, they are alot better in the mud then the old runamuk and they go in water like you won't beleive. On my gps it said 4.5mph on the water. I've tried them with my tracks with no issues, very happy overall with them. They are a 4 ply as well instead of the old 2 ply, which I think is a huge advantage. They don't ride any different that I can tell. Hope this helps you out.

i checked on the carlisle at 101 and was told that they only come in 21 inch. the tire on the machine right now are 22's.. where did you order from??

It sounds like he was refering to the Carlisle AT189, which is the new Argo tire mentioned above. I believe it's currently only available through an Argo dealer.

I got mine in Edmonton Alberta Canada at the argo dealer. That was the best price I could find by far. They even had them in stock.

Sorry they are the carlisle AT189, I previoulsy posted they were AT101. If I remember right I paid 125.00 bucks a tire, as previously posted that was in Edmonton.

I put a set of Kenda K472 tires. I believe they are 21x11x8 but would have to look to be sure. They are chevron style tread. They do swim. I did all 8 on my Conquest for about $450 range. I was also able to get my 13" Argo tracks on them last winter & ran a few hours without problems. - Ozzy
