  • My new " old " customized tracks

I just bought a 2005ish Max2. this thing is incredible shape the belly is hardly even scratched on it. what isnt so great are the tracks, so I decided to customize them a bit. I took some old heavy duty conveyor belt and cut it into inch in a half strips. then I installed 3 quarter inch by inch in a half heavy rubber "cleats" I guess you could call them. ISide view track.jpgTop track.jpgTop 2.jpg ran the strips around the entire track and than bolted the cleats on top of that. I figure this way the tracks will never split on me. I also figured now I will be able to use these tracks in the water and actually get somewhere. it's problly gonna add 35 pounds to go Max but I think she can handle it. it's got to 18 horse briggs in it right now and I'm thinking about taking the 20 horsepower onan out of my Toro lawn tractor and swapping them out. here are some pictures of the tracks all I have left to do is cut the ends of the bolts of.... who knows maybe ill keep them on .

i'd cut the excess bolts off ben, otherwise they'll be prone to ripping out and destroying the tracks even more! but otherwise, nice beef-up job!
