  • diffrent tires

I have a 2000 conquest with 22x10x8 run-a-mucks and I am looking for more traction. I understand the Run-a-mucks are what you need to swim but the back 4 tires do all the swiming so has anyone tried diffrent tires on the front two axles? My tires are still good and I looked at replacing them two at a time with the new 189 tires but good lord they are proud of those tires. I guess the Argo name on the tires makes them worth more.

I see no problem replacing them as they wear out. I'd get the 22" AT-189. Just make sure to fill them with enough pressure to make them all the exact circumference. You can get a cloth tape measure to check them. Oh and do it with the tires off the conquest.

I do not want to use the Argo tires, I want to use something different like the Mud Lites, Vampires, etc. I refuse to pay the absorbant price that they are asking for those tires. So I would like to start changing the front tires back until all my run-a-mucks are worn out. My run-a-mucks only have 20 hours on them so I am in pretty good shape right now.

Oh, my bad I thought you still wanted to use the AT-189s. Yeah so just about any 22" tire and inflate them so they match the same circumference of the existing tires. The key is to get them to all the same size or close enough. Less strain on the chains.

I am willing to give up some water ability for better mud traction. As long as it will cross water I am good with going slow. What is a good tire to start changing over to a couple at a time?
