  • Frontier tires vs Aggressive ATV tires

Every one seems to rave about the Frontier tires , but the reason Dan ( aka MightyMax ) , Lee ( aka Georgia Mudbug ) and myself , Dave Sanders ( aka Mudbug3 ) are sold on Mudbug ,Swamp Fox Plus ,and Vampire tires , are the lug depth , ability to shead mud , 6 ply tires are more punture resistant , plus , the tires mentioned give water propulsion ,,though very slow when compared to the Frontier tires . In this video ,,Dan drives his Max IV through sticks and logs , in and under the water . I don,t think a Frontier tire could withstand this kind of abuse , with out a pucture . The reason Dan , Lee ,and myself , use these three brands of ATV tires , on our amphibs , is because even though they are slower in the water , over all , in most technical , trail situations ,they are better .

I guess it depends were you are

Frontier tires are raved for its swimming abilities and if you need to cross a large deep body of water you would want more speed especially if you have a bit of a wind or current to fight. The Video you have shown which was really cool I may ad water speed would not be a very big asset. I think you tire choice is great for you application and this is not about what tire is better but what suits your application or terrain better.

Had saying this biggest thing I see that needs improvement on an AATV is water speed. The AATV replaces the need for an AATV, Snowmobile if you get the wide track option and a small boat; however I still see the need to own a few boats. I will be selling my sled when I get tracks.
Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs
