  • What Tranny is this in my Attex 300 ? Tag is worn off -I cant read the info :(

Hello 6-ers and tranny men - See attached and help me get a clue on this tranny - the dang tag is beat up so I cant read the info I know it's a baker hill but not sure if it's 5000 or 7000 or ?? I also need some help in the shifter linkage if anyone has a pic? Mine was missing when I got this so - I'm wondering if I can make it original or better?? Thanksattex tranny.jpg

I can't tell from the pictures, but I'd guess it's a 7000 if it's original. The easiest way I know of to tell the difference is to look at the shaft inside the end bearings. If it's a 5000 it will be 3/4".

Okay - thanks the shaft appears to be 3/4" at the bearing ends - I will mic it to be sure -

what are the pros and cons of the 5000 and or the 7000?
Same parts for both ? Ease of working on? Problems with ?

The 5000 breaks main shafts pretty easily. I assume that's the reason they made the shaft diameter larger on the 6 and 7000 even with a little two-stroke single powering the machine. The calipers are interchangeable from the 6000 and 7000, but I don't think many more parts are. I have a 5000 (minus the calipers) if you end up needing parts for yours.
