    I came up with an idea for dealing with those pesky c-clips that hold the sun gears in place on the input shaft.

    All I did was grind down the back ends of two snap-ring posts so that they were flat on one side. Then I inserted them backwards into the snap-ring pliers. Now when I need to remove the clips, I use the snap-ring pliers to pry apart the c-clip while exerting a downward force. I also place a towel under the area to stop the c-clip from ricocheting all over the place.

      Very nice, George;

      I'll have to make one out of an old set of pliers myself and try it. Good idea!
