  • Salsbury 780 clutch question

I have a 295 wild wolf that I am trying to convert to a four stroke machine. The Driver that was on the old JLO Rockwell motor says Salsbury and 5500 RPMS. If I fit this to the shaft of the Kohler motor will it enage and work with the 4 stroke. It operated fine with the 2 stroke and worked. I am just trying to same some bucks and make the one I have work.

I did the same thing... Had to get a new clutch. The 2-stroke has a tapered shaft and my four stroke has a straight one inch shaft (more than likely). There is an adaptor you can buy, but i haven't read on here where anyone has used one. Combined with the fact that the 2-stroke clutch is 'tuned' to engage at a higher rpm it is probably a better idea to start looking for a new driver.
