  • 208TT BH6000 Trans Help

Hi all, I am currently doing a full resto on a 69-70 208 that I bought last fall. I have the machine completely stripped down, frame out and powder coated. I am working on the driveline here during the cold winter here in Ohio. My question is about the BH6000 trans. I have completely torn it down, replaced all bearings and cleaned the years of crud from it. I am assembling it now but am unsure of the spacer that goes to the outside of the planetary clutches (as there were none on it). According to the diagrams I found here it is item number 70, ATV 6002 Bearing Washer. I need to know if this is just a plain old spacer (how thick) or a special thrust type washer. There is a snap ring right behind it, then the outer shaft bearing. If someone could take a look at theirs and let me know what it looks like and how thick it is I would greatly appreciate it. I will be posting some pictures of my progress shortly.

I thought we'd lost that picture.

Bob, if I remember right, I replaced the worn-out washers on the last couple I built with machine washers from a hardware store. You can double them up if you need to, but I like to leave a little play for the disc to move (1/16" to 1/8").

            Hope this helped.
