  • Max II shifting hard

I have a problem shifting my Max II, won't shift when engine is running or off, I have to turn the diamonds on top off the trans first before it will ****, I read in the manual that the changes coming off the trans have to be lose befare it will shift correctly, how lose do the changes have to be? thanks

The chains need about 3/8 " play at center span. Set engine idle down and hold sticks back to neutral position. Shifting into reverse is a learning thing. I shift into reverse if I know I'm going to need it just as the vehicle comes to a stop and rolls back slightly. Sticks held back and just wiggle the shifter with fingers if all is well. Good luck

Look under your diamond shifters to see if there is any dust, dirt, or mud that can cause shifting to be really hard if it is binding up the shifters. I had this problem and cleaned the top of each side out then sprayed a lil WD-40 and it cleared up my problem.
Hold My B..R and Watch This!!!

I hanven't had time to adjudt the changes yet,, there is no dirt under the diamonds, did sray PB blaster on the shafts under the diamonds, if I turne the diamonds with a pliers a little bit then it wil shift, when I rolled it forward about 2 feet it shifted into forward with no problem,, I'll adjust the changes and see what happens, thanks
