Hello harper, welcome to the site. Depending on the grinding noise, it could be anything from brakes being worn out to a problem with the transmission, chains, bearings, etc. I would start by checking the brake pads to make sure you still have plenty of pad left. Then raise the machine off the ground and see if everything is turning freely.

Have you checked your chains and sprockets.
Could be a loose chain or worn sprocket.

Check the trans chains adjustment, you could pull the firewall and run around slow watching what's doing what, or not.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.

Your 95 Argo 6x6 shouldn't have had bolts holding the sprockets on, the trans holds 28 oz if I remember correct. post some pics of what you have including driveline, if the internals of trans are hurt they are all replaceable and available.

http://www.6x6world.com/gallery/data...m/DSCN4697.Jpg . Brake pad noise is possible, remove the firewall looks at the break discs and they will either have 2 hydraulic calipers with pads in them or if manual 4 aluminum pieces with the brake material riveted or bonded to them, the brake material new on either set up is about 1/4 inch thick and on the hyd. set up should be twice the thickness of the metal that it is bonded to.
Also check your idler shaft bearings by prying up and releasing idler shaft just inside the outer chains.
If your brakes are good and bearings are good from the noise you are describing you may have an internal trans problem.http://www.6x6world.com/gallery/data...clutch_003.JPG

There is a manual section on the home page which has a pdf service manual that should greatly help, the brake section is (on my computer barely showing page) on the right side and so is the steering section.
