  • Clutch Question for 10hp

I was thinking of putting a 4 stroke in the Terra Tiger. Does anybody know where to get a new or used clutch for a low price?

    Would one of these work?

      Is you 10hp a 1" shaft?

Looking at that clutch/CVT I would think it was for a higher horse power engine. What is the shaft diameter on the 10hp you will be using?

I would think that clutch should be good

I would get a second opinion on it but you may need to experiment with different clutch weights and driven pulley springs to get optimum performance but it should be fine.

I would think that you would need to use a large diameter driven pulley after the clutch for some bottom end torque. When one switchs from two stroke to four stroke you really notice it off the line.

Ok. I talked to Richard's Relics the other day and he said that a used clutch that would work with the 10hp and my Terra Tiger was $150.

I would say $189 new is better then $150 used

The $150 used may still need to be tinkered with for optimum performance
possibly even need general maintenance type service.

I have points that will be here later this week. If I don't like the engine torque or sound I'll go this way.
                Thank you for the help

The Comet Duster is a nice clutch for a four-stroke as well, and you can find them fairly cheap on ebay sometimes, both new and used.

eBay Motors: New Comet 94C Duster 1" 4 Cycle Engine Clutch 206095A (item 170203486196 end time Mar-27-08 14:09:35 PDT)

I'll look into that. I have the duster 94c tapered brand new never used in it's box but as one can see it won't fit my 10hp briggs... Have you ever used the Duster 1in bore on a 6x6?

                      clutch

it depends on th rpms the clutch is set to engage for too. i use salisbury's but, i would but a new one., saves the doubt of a used one, savings later? i've seen used ones for 40.00 on ebay too

Look at mfgsupply.com They have both the 780 drive and driven clutch for the Recreatives Max which should work in most 4cycle applications. one is $155 and the other is $165. I am in the process of installing a 94c and a 780 series driven clutch from mfgsupply.com on my ATTEX. The 780 will bolt on to a t-20 with no modifications.
