I'm with JBF. There were a few manufacturers that made very similar units, but Salsbury was one of the most common and they made a few different variations of the same model.Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
(6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

HI,
Looks like a first generation 770 [9 7/8 ?] secondary clutch 1968--1974
2nd gen 1974--1991
3rd gen 91--present
The 780 and 790 are different diameter option
The 770 has the lowest ""1st gear ratio "" and the Lowest top speed [lowest over drive ]
The 780 and 790 option have higher 1st gears and respectively high top speed
Also these first gen clutches had only 1x only white slide button per ramp.
Another identifying mark is they had only a 41or 45 degree ramp .
I found all this out when I was setting up my clutches . I ended up purchasing a third gen secondary 770 28 degree ramp with 2x black rubbing blocks per ramp . I also installed a red spring .
If by further conformation it does end up being a 1st gen ,please remember that the red springs for these are differently designed compared to 3rd gen .
The first gen clutch fitted to my machine was from Richard relics and supplied to me from the previous owner agh agh ........

Hey Jim,
I'm chiming in late, but I had a clutch for a bit that looked just like that. I didn't see any numbers or other identifying marks, but it was mounted on an older Chaparral snowmobile chaincase. It had a 1" bore, and really didn't look all that original to the application, but the rest of the machine wasn't there to figure it out. I was confounded by the buttons on the wrong side, but since the clutch was in bad shape to begin with I didn't give it much of a thought and it went on the scrap pile.sigpic

Hydro, this clutch isn't great either but will work in a pinch, the numbers where cast in the hub but across a casting web which is why I could only make out 5 numbers. It has a 7/8 bore, since it's here I'll probably mess with it over time and clean up the pitting as it looked really bad untill I took some sand paper to it.
After Jersey pointed me in the right direction, the picture is in the manuals section showing the buttons on that side.sigpic

Not that label Jim, seems as if alot of Pa and WNY don't drink Coors, had the same issue in Fl.. Seems funny to me as it has to come through there to get to me yet all I find is silver bullets.sigpic
