T20 stuck in forward

My latest aquisition may not be the jewel I thought it was. Drove it less than 20 minutes and left side of T20 is now stuck in forward gear. Right side shifts as it should. Diamond is flopping freely not engaging anything in the tranny. Anyone have any idea what came loose or or broke?

Try wiggling the shifter back down. If it won't go any further down, then you need to remove it and probably change the pin.

Thanks Drew. Major operation? How does the diamond shifter come off?

Either a c-clip holds it down, or there is a hold down bracket over the diamond shifter. Then just wiggle it and pull up while doing so. If you have neither, it's most likely just moved up and needs pushed back into its slot. It only takes a minute to figure out. If it is a broken pin, try to remove the broken piece and just get another one. If you can't get the pin out, someone may have a used diamond shifter laying around, or you can just get it from RI.

Dont see a c-clip. Is it beneath the diamond in the plunger bore? Nothing on top. It feels like its shifting now, after pushing it in the garage. I,ll fire it up and see tomorrow
