Reassembled T-20 question

I just reassembled my T-20 and have a question. In the guide, it says that upon reassembly, the input shaft should turn freely. Mine turns, but only when I thread a bolt into the input shaft and use a wrench to turn it. Does this seem correct? I know there are many out there who have had this tranny apart and I would appreciate any advice.

Pull it back apart! I think a washer probably got jammed and broke during assembly.
