T 20 tranny

Hi everyone, I took my T20 tranny apart and got it back together, had to put new brake bands in , great site lots of help, Iam putting the u channel brake bars on and they have these u shaped washers that fit over the bolt heads, how do you tighten these with that on there, thanks Gary

Pry on the back of the c-channel beside the plunger you are trying to adjust. This will pull the plunger out, tightening the band that it is connected to. The plunger should stay there while you gently push the c-channel back towards the case. This will allow you to slide the washer back away from the bolt so that you can turn the bolt.

Thanks, Mike, I was trying to turn it down too far, I understand now, how it works, looking for 11/16 of travel with the plungers at both ends once its all hooked up, I hope anyway.

11/16" travel is too much....it should be approx half of that.
